President John Mahama welcomed Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang back from medical leave.
He spoke at a brief event in Accra on Thursday, May 22. The President noted her improved health and encouraged her to take her time.
“The doctors say you are 20 years younger,” he said. He mentioned that a professor confirmed she is fit for the job.
Despite this positive news, the President advised her to be cautious. “Take it easy for a little while,” he suggested.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang had an extended medical leave. This period lasted longer than the initial three weeks announced by the government.
She first received treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). Later, she traveled abroad for further medical care. This situation sparked national discussions about her health and executive operations.
