'He will learn from it' - Isaac Adongo defends Sammy Gyamfi over dollar giveaway saga

NDC member Isaac Adongo defended the party's National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.

Gyamfi faced public criticism for gifting U.S. dollars in a recent incident.

In an interview on JoyNews’ PM Express, Adongo acknowledged Gyamfi's mistake. He emphasized Gyamfi’s potential and contributions to the party and nation.

“Sammy Gyamfi should know he is a public figure,” Adongo stated. He added that President John Mahama understands Ghanaians' feelings about such matters.

Adongo called it an error and believes Gyamfi will learn from it.

The Bolga Central MP praised Gyamfi’s achievements, especially his work with the Gold Board (GoldBod).

“He is a shining star for us [NDC],” Adongo said. He noted that Gyamfi has built GoldBod from scratch and developed strong systems for gold exports.

Adongo suggested that the backlash against Gyamfi is politically motivated.

“Given his work against the NPP government in 2024, they will come after him,” he remarked.

He urged the public to consider Gyamfi’s overall contributions and growth potential.

“He still has a long future ahead of him,” Adongo concluded. “We cannot throw out the baby with the bathwater.”
