Effia Member of Parliament, Joseph Cudjoe Boamoah-Nyarko, clarified recent criticisms of Sammy Gyamfi. Gyamfi is the National Communications Officer of the NDC. Boamoah-Nyarko stated that the aim is to promote accountability in public office.
Sammy Gyamfi faced public scrutiny after a video surfaced. The video showed him giving US dollars to evangelist Patricia Asieduaa, known as Nana Agradaa. This act drew widespread backlash, with many calling it reckless and inappropriate.
In response to the criticism, Mr. Gyamfi apologized publicly for his actions.
On Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, Boamoah-Nyarko emphasized their concern for public standards. He said they are not trying to tarnish anyone's reputation.
He stated, "No one is saying Sammy Gyamfi is a thief." He added that if a government appointee misbehaves, they must speak up for the country's betterment.
Boamoah-Nyarko stressed that public officials should follow the President’s code of conduct. This includes managing public resources and showing ethical leadership. He questioned why Gyamfi apologized if nothing was wrong.
The Effia MP dismissed claims of political vendetta. He insisted their position is not based on bitterness or personal grievances. "No one is pained about anyone," he said.
He concluded by urging the President to enforce discipline among his appointees and uphold ethical behavior.
