'What at all is holding up Ablekuma North results?' – Samuel Jinapor fumes

Samuel Abu Jinapor, the MP for Damongo Constituency, is worried about the Ablekuma North election results. The constituency has been without representation for six months.

On JoyNews’ The Pulse show, he noted that 275 out of 276 constituencies have declared results. However, Ablekuma North's results remain unresolved.

He questioned why the results have not been declared since the elections. “What is the reason for this delay?” he asked.

Mr. Jinapor stressed that democratic institutions must ensure transparency in elections. He warned that if they fail, citizens and political parties may take matters into their own hands.

The Electoral Commission has requested police protection to finalize the process in Ablekuma North. Mr. Jinapor found it strange that police protection has not yet been provided.

He supported the Minority's protest in Parliament, stating it aimed to hold authorities accountable. “We demand that police fulfill their responsibility,” he said.

The MP emphasized that people in Ablekuma North deserve representation in Parliament. It is unacceptable for a constituency to be unrepresented for six months.

He believes it is clear who won the election: the NPP candidate. He suggested some groups are blocking results because they know the outcome.

Mr. Jinapor called for justice and transparency in Ghana’s democracy. He insisted that even with a government majority, justice should prevail and results should be declared immediately.
