Fifteen people were arrested for drug-related offenses on Friday.
The operation took place in Tema Community 1 and Ashaiman. It was coordinated by the Food and Drug Authority (FDA).
The FDA worked with several agencies, including NACOC and the Customs Division. They seized large quantities of opioids, cannabis, and unregistered drugs.
Dr. Olivia A. Boateng briefed the media about the operation. She is the Head of Tobacco and Substance Abuse Directorate at the FDA.
She stated that this swoop aims to reduce opioid abuse in Ghana. The operation will expand to other regions with support from security agencies.
