2,300 students schooled on human trafficking at Denu

A total of 2,300 students from Three Town Senior High School in Denu participated in an outreach program. This program focused on human trafficking and its impact on national development. It emphasized the importance of reporting suspects to law enforcement.

The students learned about traffickers' activities and how to report them. They discussed cyber trafficking and methods used in these illegal activities. The program highlighted issues at the Aflao border and the need to stop such actions.

Regina Ignatia Afla, Assistant Superior General of the Handmaids of the Divine Redeemers Sisters Foundation (HDRSF), addressed the students. She explained that the program is called the ‘Amewuga’ advocacy campaign. Its goal is to raise awareness about human trafficking.

Ms. Afla stated that her organization fights against human trafficking relentlessly. They focus on protecting migrants' rights and building resilience among women, girls, and children. Their mission includes combating modern slavery, abuse, and exploitation of vulnerable individuals in society.
