Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced plans to investigate the party's poor performance in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Speaking at a press conference on December 9, Chairman Wontumi acknowledged the party's struggles and emphasized the importance of introspection. He revealed that a meeting will be convened with various regional leaders, including MPs, parliamentary candidates, and executives, to identify the causes of the defeat and share the findings with the public.
Despite the loss, Wontumi assured supporters that the party’s focus is on recovery and revitalizing the NPP for future success.
On December 9, the Electoral Commission declared John Mahama the winner with 6,328,397 votes, while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia received 4,657,304 votes.
