2024 Elections: Refugee Board warns asylum seekers against political involvement

Tetteh Padi, Executive Secretary of the Ghana Refugee Board, stressed the importance of keeping refugees and asylum seekers away from political activities.

In an interview with Citi News, he emphasized that refugees are prohibited from engaging in politics in both their home countries and their host country, Ghana.

Padi confirmed that asylum seekers are regularly sensitized about these rules, with enforcement ensured through collaboration with security agencies.

He also highlighted the board’s vigilance in managing the risks refugees face, urging them to avoid involvement in political matters or conflicts that could trigger violence.
