Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga praised the 2025 budget. He called it proof that President John Dramani Mahama is a "talk and do" leader. Mr. Ayariga believes the President is committed to his campaign promises.
He spoke after the parliamentary debate on March 25. He commended the administration for its strong economic measures.
The budget was presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson. Mr. Ayariga said it shows President Mahama’s dedication to easing financial burdens on Ghanaians.
He noted that the President promised to scrap certain taxes. "This budget delivers on that promise," he stated.
Mr. Ayariga highlighted the removal of the electronic transaction levy (E-Levy). He also mentioned the removal of betting tax as a bold step for relief.
He contrasted this administration with past governments that imposed heavy levies. "This government shows real commitment to reducing citizens' tax burden," he remarked.
The Majority Leader emphasized that the 2025 budget represents a shift in policy. It aims for a more progressive and people-centered economy.
"This is leadership in action," he said. He added that governance should focus on delivering promises, not just making them.
"This budget reflects his vision for a fairer economy," he concluded.
