Ghana’s 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic was inaugurated on January 7, 2025, at Parliament House in Accra. Alban Bagbin was re-elected as Speaker and sworn in by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

The NDC, now the majority party with 183 seats, leads the House with Cassiel Ato Forson as Majority Leader.

While 275 MPs were sworn in, the Ablekuma North seat remains vacant due to unresolved election issues.

Akwatia's Ernest Kumi was barred from taking the oath after a court injunction over alleged irregularities, initiated by NDC’s Henry Boakye Yiadom.

The swearing-in ceremony, marked by optimism, also highlighted Ghana’s commitment to democracy despite lingering electoral disputes casting a shadow on the proceedings.
