3 in NIB grip over ‘bribe’ for National Service postings

Three people are in custody of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). They are accused of extorting money from prospective National Service Personnel.

Felix Gyamfi, the Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), shared this news. He spoke during an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem.

Mr. Gyamfi said the suspects collected at least GH₵1,500. They claimed they could post victims to their preferred institutions.

“Some individuals are extorting money to post people to places like Bank Hospital and Korle-Bu,” he explained. “These postings have become a business for some.”

He mentioned that while they cannot publish the suspects' photos, he will address this issue.

Mr. Gyamfi emphasized his commitment to lead with integrity. He wants to leave a blemish-free legacy and will not tolerate problems caused by others.

He highlighted the need for leaders to show strong qualities. This is essential to reduce insubordination and corruption.

“Most of our issues stem from leadership,” he noted. “If leaders engage in corrupt practices, followers may do the same.”
