Thirty-nine participants from the Democracy Hub protests have been remanded into custody, with a bench warrant issued for one protester who failed to appear in court.
Out of the 40 individuals brought before the court, 28 have been remanded into police custody after pleading not guilty, while 11 others are in prison custody, with their pleas yet to be taken.
The accused face multiple charges, including conspiracy, unlawful assembly, causing damage, and assault on a public officer.
The case has been adjourned to October 8, 2024, to allow the defense lawyer time to study the charges.
