Four people have been detained by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC). They are suspected of trying to export 89.74 kilograms of cocaine to the Netherlands.
The detainees are Gariba Soli, Josiah Baidoo, Emmanuel Mintah, and Kwabena Ampfo Anti. They were arrested for attempting to export 73 slabs of cocaine.
The four have been charged with several offenses. These include exporting a narcotic substance without a license, conspiracy, and possession of a narcotic substance without a license.
Reports indicate that the cocaine was intercepted at Swiss Port in Tema. A routine inspection on April 23, 2024, uncovered the drugs.
The cargo was being prepared for shipment to the Netherlands. It contained concealed substances believed to be cocaine. The total weight of the seized cocaine is approximately 89.74 kilograms.
The suspects are currently in custody. They are assisting NACOC in identifying the source of the drug shipment and its intended recipients.
