40k jobs up for grabs under NEIP Adwumawura Programme - Eric Adjei

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei, announced the launch of the Adwumawura Programme. This initiative aims to create about 10,000 jobs each year for young people in Ghana.

Adjei stated that over four years, the programme could generate around 40,000 jobs. The NEIP will oversee its implementation under the new Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment.

The launch occurred at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on April 28, 2025. It attracted many government officials, young entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

Adjei described the Adwumawura Programme as a commitment to youth empowerment. He emphasized that it offers hope to young people with big dreams facing challenges.

He thanked President Mahama for supporting thousands of businesses since 2014 through the Youth Enterprise Support Fund. This fund has now evolved into NEIP.

Adjei expressed gratitude on behalf of transformed young entrepreneurs. He encouraged those starting their journey with the Adwumawura Programme by saying their time has come.

He highlighted that NEIP is ready to nurture dreams and build legacies. Through partnerships with various stakeholders, they aim to boost youth entrepreneurship in Ghana.

About The Adwumawura Programme

The Adwumawura Programme fulfills an NDC campaign promise focused on youth empowerment and job creation.

It aims to create, track, and monitor young businesses annually with a focus on youth involvement.

In its first phase, it will support the top 2,000 viable business proposals through:

- Business Development Training: Teaching essential skills for success.
- Mentorship: Connecting young entrepreneurs with experienced leaders.
- Access to Start-up Capital: Providing financial support for business ideas.
- Marketing and Networking: Helping entrepreneurs showcase products and connect with customers.

The programme is expected to significantly impact Ghana’s economy by creating jobs and promoting innovation among youth. By supporting young businesses, it will contribute to economic growth and development in the country.
