50 female entrepreneurs graduate from Access Bank Ghana’s Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton

Fifty female entrepreneurs have completed the Access Bank Ghana Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton programme. They gained essential financial and business management skills.

A graduation ceremony took place in Accra on March 27, 2025. This event marked the end of the programme’s sixth season.

The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton initiative aims to empower women-led businesses. It offers training, mentorship, and funding opportunities for growth.

Matilda Asante-Asiedu spoke at the event. She is the Group Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank Ghana. She emphasized their commitment to supporting female entrepreneurship.

She said, "We support women businesses to expose them to market opportunities." This helps them grow and benefits their communities and the economy.

Women make up over 70% of small business owners in Ghana. Supporting them also supports the country’s development. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton.

The programme has helped hundreds of female entrepreneurs since it began. It provides tools to navigate challenges in running successful businesses.

Graduates expressed gratitude for the knowledge and support received. Many noted how transformative the programme has been for their ventures.

The top three winners each received GH¢100,000 to boost their businesses. Other participants also received various awards from supporters of the programme.

Winner Geneviva Baidoo shared her excitement with Myjoyonline.com. She plans to invest in machinery and hire more employees with her prize money.

She said, "I’ll use it to grow my business and help orphanages."

The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa provides female-owned businesses access to finance and training. The initiative runs concurrently in nine other African countries where Access Bank operates.
