The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has recalled 78 interdicted personnel, including 14 Senior Officers and 64 other ranks, over alleged recruitment and visa scams.
Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI) Samuel Basintale Amadu announced the recall at the GIS headquarters, emphasizing that it does not constitute amnesty.
Instead, the officers will undergo internal disciplinary procedures, with appropriate sanctions for those found guilty.
CGI Amadu reiterated his administration's commitment to discipline and swift resolution of misconduct cases. He warned that fraud and visa-related offenses would be referred to the police, urging personnel to uphold the Service’s integrity.
Some recalled officers may be considered for promotion after their trials, depending on the outcomes.
GIS has also intensified efforts to combat fraudulent recruitment schemes targeting job seekers.
