‘Feed Ghana’ will be research-driven, climate-sensitive – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to Ghana’s agriculture. He launched the Feed Ghana Programme as a national call to action.

At the launch in Techiman on April 12, he highlighted key aspects of the initiative. The programme will focus on research, inclusivity, and climate-conscious practices. “All interventions will be grounded in research,” he stated.

He added that the programme aims to include youth and women. The Feed Ghana Programme is more than just a government policy. It is a strategy for national growth and improving livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.

Mr. Mahama emphasized that this initiative is a call to action. He acknowledged the monumental task ahead but believes it is achievable.

He called for collective effort from all stakeholders. Farmers, agribusinesses, financial institutions, development partners, and citizens must unite. “With unity of purpose and shared commitment,” he said, “we can transform agriculture into an engine of growth.”
