President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to Ghana's anti-corruption agencies. He stated he will not interfere with ongoing investigations. He also promised not to influence any cases being dropped.
Mahama spoke during a meeting with the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption. This meeting took place at Jubilee House on Tuesday, May 3. He emphasized his respect for the rule of law and prosecutorial independence.
"I have assured my Attorney General and Minister of Justice that I will not interfere," he said.
He added, "If the anti-corruption agencies pursue anyone, I won't influence them." This includes individuals from previous administrations who are currently under investigation.
