“I’m not afraid” – NSA Western Coordinator reacts to office lock-up

Daniel Dawusu is the new Western Regional Coordinator of the National Service Authority (NSA). He addressed tensions about his appointment after protests by local youth. These youth support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and want an indigene appointed.

In an interview on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, Dawusu spoke about the situation. He confirmed that the NSA's Director General knows about the protests. The Director General advised him to continue his duties as a public servant.

Dawusu mentioned that a formal complaint has been filed with the police. However, he has not requested personal security. He believes the youth are not targeting him personally.

“They just want their person to be appointed,” he said. Dawusu expressed some fear but does not think they will harm him. “I am not afraid,” he added, noting he has made a formal complaint but hasn’t asked for security yet.
