Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine has revealed serious allegations against Mr. Kwabena Adu-Boahene. He is the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB). His wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, is also implicated.
Investigations found multiple high-value properties in Ghana and abroad. These findings suggest significant financial misconduct.
**Identified Properties:**
- **No. 2 Stream Part Drive, Mayfair Estates, LA, Accra:** A deposit of $1,000,000 was made. This property is valued at GHS15,000,000 with verified slips and receipts.
- **No. 6 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA, Accra:** A deposit of $500,000 was recorded.
- **No. 7 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA:** A deposit of $200,000 was noted.
- **No. 8 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA:** An initial deposit of $97,815 was made. There are suspicions of additional cash payments for this property.
- **No. 9 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA:** A documented deposit of $270,000 exists.
- **No. 10 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA:** A deposit of $150,000 was recorded.
Further investigations link Mr. Adu-Boahene to Vertex Properties. This real estate firm owns 27 houses in Oyarifa valued at $295,000 each. This raises concerns about the source of these funds.
Authorities have also identified two properties in London linked to the couple. However, details about these assets remain undisclosed.
Dr. Ayine addressed journalists in Accra on Monday regarding these findings. He emphasized that the scale of these acquisitions indicates financial misconduct during Mr. Adu-Boahene’s time at NSB.
“The proceeds from their activities were used to acquire significant properties,” Dr. Ayine stated.
Authorities are intensifying investigations into financial flows related to Mr. Adu-Boahene and his wife. They aim to recover misappropriated funds and ensure accountability for any irregularities.
