The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has issued a warning to police. He cautioned against converting foreigners into citizens during arrests. Officers found doing this will face disciplinary action.
During a meeting with the Ashanti Regional Police Command, he expressed his displeasure. Reports indicated some officers changed arrested foreigners' names to Ghanaian names. Mr. Mubarak called this practice unacceptable and a violation of protocols.
He emphasized that such actions harm the integrity of the police service. He vowed to hold accountable any officers involved in this misconduct.
Additionally, the Minister addressed drug peddling in "Tinker Island." This area is known for drug-related activities in Manhyia South Constituency. He urged the regional Police Command to conduct a raid within six months.
Mr. Mubarak called for decisive action against drug peddling and police misconduct. He highlighted his commitment to upholding the law and ensuring public safety.
