Former Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, has made a generous donation. He is the running mate to the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2024 Presidential Candidate.
Napo donated GH₵50,000 and 500 bags of cement. This support aims to help traders affected by the recent fire at the Adum Blue Light market in Kumasi.
His contribution follows a visit from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s 2024 Presidential Candidate. Bawumia also offered support and sympathies to the affected traders.
During his presentation, Napo encouraged traders to stay resilient and united. He stressed the importance of solidarity during this difficult time.
Napo acknowledged previous visits from Bawumia, Regional Minister Kennedy Agyapong, and President Mahama. He stated that he wanted to show his commitment to helping the victims.
The devastating fire destroyed much of the market recently. Many traders are now facing significant losses estimated in millions of Cedis.
Those affected are trying to salvage what remains of their stock while dealing with the aftermath.

He thanked everyone who has shown support so far, including Bawumia and Agyapong. He called for unity among affected traders during this challenging time.
Additionally, Napo announced that GH₵100,000 would be released from the Common Fund for further aid. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting victims throughout their recovery process.
