Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has disclosed that a businessman recently attempted to mobilize funds to support a ministerial nominee’s approval process, despite no such payments being required.
Speaking on Joy News, Ayariga recounted an encounter where the businessman, who was not asked by the minister, suggested helping the nominee.
Ayariga immediately rejected the idea, asserting that the Appointments Committee does not accept money.
In response to allegations of bribery by lawyer Oliver Barker-Vormawor, Ayariga called for proof and emphasized that the NDC’s parliamentary majority makes such payments unnecessary.
He encouraged anyone with credible evidence to come forward, reinforcing the need for transparency and integrity within the approval process.
