Delta is the first U.S. airline to celebrate its centennial. To honor this milestone, Delta has renovated the Delta Flight Museum.
The museum officially opens on Monday, April 7. It features vast hangars transformed into exhibit and event spaces. The renovation highlights Delta’s unique culture and people-first values.
Visitors can engage with interactive exhibits that showcase Delta's history. The new ‘Delta Connects You’ experience uses extended reality to connect cultures and ideas.
Since 1995, the Delta Flight Museum has welcomed visitors worldwide. It celebrates aviation history and the story of Delta Airlines. The museum also serves as a venue for special events like meetings and weddings.
Located at Delta’s Atlanta headquarters, it offers insight into the airline's legacy and future. Kelley Moore, Executive Director of the museum, calls it “Delta’s true home.”
The renovation took over a year to complete. It involved refreshing two hangars and planning new exhibits. Funding came from The Delta Air Lines Foundation and donations from employees.
Preserving memorabilia from Delta’s 100-year history is challenging. Director of Archives Marie Force focuses on conserving artifacts like uniforms and model aircraft.
Force believes preserving history connects people to Delta's culture. She emphasizes that sharing this history inspires future aviation professionals.
The museum supports community events aimed at inspiring young aviation enthusiasts. New exhibits highlight various aviation careers such as pilots and technicians.
Imagine Exhibitions designed the renovated space for the museum. This Atlanta-based company specializes in creating world-class exhibitions.
The Legacy Hangar focuses on early airline history with new areas for kids and events. The Spirit Hangar showcases travel from the 1960s to today.
The museum will open to the public on Monday, April 7.
