A ‘small kayayei lie’ has destroyed ‘big’ electric bus news — Kofi Bentil laments

Legal practitioner and Vice President of IMANI, Kofi Bentil, has criticized the false labeling of a government Electric Bus female driver as a head porter (Kayayei).

Reports initially suggested that the driver, who navigated the bus with Vice President Bawumia onboard, was part of a program training Kayayei women to drive for improved livelihoods.

However, it was later revealed that the driver was not a Kayayei but a professional with Bus Rapid Transportation since 2019.

Bentil condemned the misinformation, emphasizing that such false claims could overshadow the significant achievement of the electric bus initiative.

He urged people to avoid attaching lies to important issues, stressing that the truth must prevail.
