**Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine – Attorney-General and Minister for Justice**
The Attorney General's office has raised concerns about a company in Mauritius. This company received a $2 million payment from the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) for a Skytrain. However, it may not even exist.
Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, the Minister for Justice, shared this information. A lawyer based in Mauritius confirmed the company's questionable status. Consequently, the government plans to prosecute former GIIF CEO Solomon Asamoah and Board Chairman Prof. Ameyaw Ekumfi.
During a press conference in Accra yesterday, Dr. Ayine explained that the payment lacked GIIF Board approval. This action has sparked serious legal and financial issues.
**Fugitive CEO Hiding in Senegal**
Dr. Ayine also revealed that Solomon Asamoah is evading prosecution in Senegal. He initially traveled to South Africa on February 2, 2025, before moving to Senegal. The Attorney General stated they are closely monitoring his movements.
If Mr. Asamoah does not return voluntarily, the government may try him in absentia. He has promised to return within three months, similar to former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta's situation with the Special Prosecutor.
**No Board Approval for Payment**
The Attorney General stressed that the $2 million transaction was made without board approval. It was requested by Prof. Ameyaw Ekumfi and Solomon Asamoah alone.
A review of GIIF Board minutes and testimonies confirmed key procedural conditions were ignored. Dr. Ayine reassured Ghanaians that the government is intensifying its fight against corruption.
He referenced former President John Dramani Mahama's statement about Ghana being a "crime scene." The public should expect shocking revelations in the coming weeks.
