Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has dismissed claims that President John Mahama influenced the discontinuation of criminal cases involving key figures.

Critics have accused the Mahama administration of interfering in prosecutions, particularly cases related to the Saglemi Housing Project, COCOBOD’s Stephen Opuni, and Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Asiama.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, February 12, Dr. Ayine stated that all prosecutorial decisions were solely his responsibility and not politically motivated.

He rejected allegations that Mahama acted as a “clearing agent,” urging detractors to reconsider their stance.

He maintained that every dropped case was based on legal merit, emphasizing the independence of his office from political pressure.
