AMA rolls out ‘Operation Red Line’ to regulate street trading, pedestrian movement

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has launched Operation "Red Line."

This initiative aims to improve pedestrian safety and regulate street trading.

It is led by Chief Executive Michael Kpapko Allotey.

Operation "Red Line" marks specific zones on pavements for pedestrians and traders.

This effort is part of a larger decongestion exercise by the AMA.

The operation includes removing unauthorized structures and mobile vendors.

These actions target encroachments that block public pathways and roadways.

On Wednesday, May 21, the AMA taskforce continued its work at Circle Neoplan Station.

This marked Day 2 of their citywide campaign to reduce congestion in Accra.
