ASA Savings and Loans renovates two classrooms blocks at Mataheko ‘1’ Basic School

Mataheko ‘1’ Basic School celebrated a special event recently. A team from ASA Savings and Loans handed over a renovated 4-unit classroom block. They also donated two sets of teachers' chairs and tables. Additionally, they distributed learning materials to 250 students.

Ms. Sabina Sebigon, the Branch Manageress of ASA, spoke at the event. She explained that the school was chosen due to its poor condition during a visit last year. “This facelift shows our commitment to improving communities,” she added.

Mr. Foster Akuffo, the Headteacher, expressed gratitude for the support. He noted that this school is one of the oldest in Greater Accra. It has not seen major renovations since it opened, making this help timely.

At Omanjor MA ‘2’ Basic School, ASA reaffirmed its commitment to SDG-4: Quality Education. They handed over a renovated 3-unit classroom block there as well. Richard Nartey, ASA's Sustainability Manager, emphasized their role in improving education quality.

He urged individuals and organizations to support vulnerable schools everywhere. Mr. Samir Sani, Area Manager of ASA, highlighted their social responsibility efforts. He mentioned that this school was selected due to high enrollment and infrastructure pressure.

The Deputy Director of Ga North Municipal Education Directorate attended the event too. Gifty Naana Addison encouraged staff and students to keep their environment clean. She thanked ASA for their timely intervention in supporting education.
