ASFC 2025: Ghana girls set up semis clash with defending champions South Africa

Ghana's U-15 girls' team aims to continue their success in the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC). They have reached the semifinals.

The Black Damsels performed well in the group stage. They earned nine points from three matches against Morocco, Benin, and Malawi.

Ghana won their opening match against Morocco. They followed this with 2-0 and 3-0 victories over Benin and Malawi.

With six goals in total, Ghana topped Group A. Morocco finished second with six points after recovering from their loss.

Head coach Joyce Boatey-Agyei believes their performance sends a strong message. She said it boosts morale for her players and warns opponents.

"This is a great message for our rivals," she stated after the final game. "We haven't come to play."

She added that Ghanaians' hopes rest on their shoulders. "We must handle it with care and make them happy."

Finishing first means Ghana will face defending champions South Africa next. South Africa placed second in Group B behind Uganda.

In the other semifinal, Uganda will compete against last year's runners-up, Morocco.

The semifinal matches are set to start at 14:00 GMT.
