Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed plans to reduce passport fees for Ghanaians living abroad, responding to concerns over the steep price hikes implemented by the previous government.

Speaking at a community engagement with Ghanaians in Lagos, Nigeria, Ablakwa acknowledged the negative impact of high passport fees, particularly on the diaspora, and assured that their grievances would be addressed in a review of the Fees and Charges Act.

He also announced a partnership with the National Identification Authority to register Ghanaians abroad, enhancing access to services.

Ablakwa highlighted other key government measures, including the abolition of the e-levy, betting tax, and emissions levy, reaffirming the government's commitment to its promises.
