Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has donated 36 laptops. These laptops are for teachers in rural communities within North Tongu. The initiative aims to appreciate their commitment and improve education in underserved areas.
This donation continues Ablakwa's tradition of supporting educators and students. In 2019, he provided 60 laptops worth over GHS 100,000. These were given to ICT teachers at 55 public Junior High Schools and five Senior High Schools.
Ablakwa also recognizes academic excellence among students. He awarded full scholarships to 25 top-performing WASSCE students in the constituency. This scholarship covers their entire tertiary education.
Additionally, he rewards winners of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) from Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School (PRESEC).
Ablakwa plans to implement more teacher-friendly policies. These include continuous training, scholarships, and award schemes. His goal is to retain and motivate teachers while improving educational outcomes in North Tongu.
