Ablakwa hails ‘historic’ UAE visit as Ghana wins big on investment

Ghana and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have strengthened their cooperation. This follows a “historic and exceptionally successful” diplomatic visit. The visit was led by Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

After two days of discussions, Ablakwa announced that the UAE will invest significantly in Ghana. The investments will focus on key sectors such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, aviation, and defense. These areas are vital for Ghana’s transformation agenda.

Ablakwa described the visit as exceptionally successful and historic. He highlighted that UAE companies committed to investing in critical sectors of Ghana's economy.

A major outcome of the talks was a pledge for technical assistance. This support aims to help establish a national airline in Ghana. This development could reshape the country's aviation landscape.
