Ablakwa is a ‘’beautiful beneficiary’’ of appointees buying state assets; he must be exposed—NPP

The Sunyani East Communications Officer for the NPP, Mr. Abubakar Yakubu, has criticized Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, labeling him a "beautiful beneficiary" of state appointees and MPs acquiring state lands and assets.

According to Mr. Yakubu, Ablakwa, who chairs the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative, lacks the moral standing to call out others for legally purchasing state properties, as he has benefited from similar acquisitions himself.

He claimed that Ablakwa has personally gained from state resources to the extent that even his kitchen utensils might qualify as state assets.

Yakubu has urged the Minority Caucus in Parliament to use the vetting process of the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to question Ablakwa and expose his alleged hypocrisy.

He admitted that while concerns over appointees abusing their offices to acquire state assets are valid, legally purchasing such assets is not wrong.

Yakubu argued that Ablakwa, who has "benefitted throughout his life" from state assets, cannot be the one to lead such accusations.

"He must be exposed for being a hypocrite," Yakubu said, asserting that Ablakwa's actions undermine the credibility of the campaign against improper acquisition of state property.
