Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, nominee for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, has assured Ghanaians of strategic plans to transform the nation’s brain drain into a national development opportunity.
Speaking before the Appointments Committee on January 31, 2025, he outlined policies aimed at leveraging the skills and global networks of Ghanaians abroad.
Ablakwa highlighted the importance of creating an environment that encourages diaspora engagement in sectors such as education, healthcare, and technology.
He emphasized that the Foreign Ministry would facilitate knowledge transfer, partnerships, and remittances to benefit Ghana's economy.
He concluded by pledging to ensure that the brightest minds abroad are not lost permanently but instead actively contribute to Ghana’s growth, either through return or remote involvement in key national initiatives.
