Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, represented President John Dramani Mahama.
He attended the inauguration Mass of Pope Leo XIV on May 18, 2025. The event took place at Saint Peter’s Square in Vatican City.
In a Facebook post, Ablakwa expressed his gratitude for this opportunity. He called it a “profound honour” to represent the President and Ghana.
Ablakwa appreciated the blessings and warmth from the Supreme Pontiff during the ceremony.
The inauguration Mass marked the start of Pope Leo XIV’s papacy. Dignitaries from around the world attended this significant event.
