Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, visited River Park Estate in Abuja, Nigeria. This estate covers 501 hectares and is led by Ghanaian businessman Sir Dr. Sam Jonah. His firm, Jonah Capital, partnered with Mobus Property and Houses for Africa on this project.
Ablakwa's visit is part of a three-day trip to Nigeria. The goal is to strengthen ties and promote Ghanaian businesses abroad through the Economic Diplomacy Blueprint.
Kojo Ansah Mensah, CEO of Mobus/Houses of Africa Nigeria, welcomed Ablakwa on behalf of Jonah Capital. He represented the project's founders: Sir Dr. Sam Jonah and Ehunabobrim Nana Prah Agyensaim VI.
During his address, Mensah emphasized the estate’s importance as a symbol of Ghana-Nigeria collaboration. This partnership began in 2007 when Sir Sam Jonah joined Nigeria’s Honorary Investment Advisory Council.
“This is more than real estate,” said Mensah. “River Park shows African excellence through Ghanaian capital and Nigerian engineering.”
Despite its achievements, River Park Estate has faced regulatory challenges and misinformation campaigns.
Ablakwa praised Nigerian officials like FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for their support. He stressed Ghana's commitment to helping its businesses abroad: “Let River Park inspire Ghanaian and Nigerian businesses to build legacies together.”
On Facebook, he called River Park an “enduring symbol” of Ghanaian enterprise and collaboration. He assured developers they would receive diplomatic support in navigating local challenges.
He concluded his visit by promising that President Mahama’s administration will support Ghanaian enterprises abroad while promoting intra-African collaboration.
Ablakwa encouraged young entrepreneurs to use Economic Diplomacy tools to expand internationally. He assured them that the Foreign Ministry is ready to help make their visions a reality. “Let’s create more Ghanaian international brands,” he urged.
