Former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul believes Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa will regret his past criticisms of former President Akufo-Addo’s use of chartered flights once he faces the realities of diplomacy.
Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express on January 22, Nitiwul argued that Ablakwa’s comments lacked an understanding of the demands of national security and high-level diplomacy.
He explained that Ablakwa, now serving as Foreign Minister, would soon realise the complexities involved in presidential travel decisions.
Nitiwul also dismissed claims that chartering private jets was unique to Akufo-Addo, revealing that President John Mahama also used private jets during his tenure.
Calling for an end to the politicisation of the presidential jet, Nitiwul stressed that national security should remain a top priority, urging Ghanaians to focus on cost-cutting in broader governance issues.
