Ablekuma Central Assembly gives 5-day ultimatum to roadside vehicle owners

The Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly has issued a five-day ultimatum. Individuals must remove vehicles left by the roadside for repairs. Failure to comply will result in penalties.

This directive is part of a larger effort by Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Frank Nkansah. He aims to reduce congestion in the municipality. “Many main streets have become makeshift car repair sites,” Mr. Nkansah said. This situation causes inconvenience for residents and commuters.

During an inspection on May 30, 2025, the MCE called it a public nuisance. He ordered that these vehicles be moved to proper garages. “On June 5, we will deploy municipal guards to enforce our bylaws,” he added. Abandoned vehicles will be towed, and violators will face sanctions.

Mr. Nkansah emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to discipline and safety. He urged residents to support efforts for a cleaner environment.

As part of his tour, the MCE visited an unauthorized dumping site near ICGC at Ayigbe Town. He expressed concern about waste disposal in the area, highlighting its health risks. “This is unacceptable,” he stated, calling for urgent action on waste management.

Mr. Nkansah noted that local assemblies need help from government agencies and the private sector. The Assembly plans to implement stricter measures against illegal dumping soon.
