Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a Presidential Advisor, is demanding an apology from Kwame Baffoe. He is the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). She also seeks GH₵10 million in compensation for alleged defamatory remarks.
On April 3, 2025, her legal team sent a notice through R.O. Solomon Consulting. They accuse Abronye of making "false, reckless, and malicious" statements during a Net 2 TV interview on March 26, 2025.
Abronye claimed that Mrs. Mogtari turned down a ministerial position. He said she chose a “stress-free presidential staffer position” with a monthly salary of GHS95,000. He further alleged this made her “disrespectful to Ghanaians.”
Mrs. Mogtari's legal team argues these claims caused her serious embarrassment and public ridicule. They state that the allegations are factually baseless and easily disproven.
The letter demands an immediate retraction of the statements. It also requests a public apology on all platforms that shared the story. These include Net 2 TV, GhanaWeb, MyJoyOnline, Channel One TV, and Citi FM.
Additionally, they seek GH₵10 million for reputational harm and distress caused by these claims. The letter emphasizes the seriousness of the situation and indicates Mrs. Mogtari will pursue legal action if their demands are not met.
