Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale to experience changing weather conditions

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has released a 24-hour weather forecast. It predicts a mix of cloudy, sunny, and stormy conditions across the country. Thunderstorms are expected later in the day in several regions.

In the morning, most areas will have partly cloudy skies. Forested and mountainous regions may see mist or fog. This includes places like Takoradi, Axim, and parts of Eastern and Ashanti regions. Coastal areas like Accra and Aflao might experience light rain.

As the day continues, sunny intervals are expected for much of Ghana. However, brief cloud cover may linger in some areas. By afternoon into evening, thunderstorms are likely in the middle belt and northern parts of Ghana.

In major cities:

- Accra and Aflao: Thunderstorms are expected in the morning with a 40% chance of rain. The afternoon will clear to sunny periods, but it will turn cloudy by evening.

- Takoradi, Axim, and parts of the Central Region: The day will start misty before becoming sunny. Evenings will be partly cloudy.

- Ho, Koforidua, and Akim Oda: These areas will have partly cloudy mornings with a 30% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. This increases to 40% by evening.

- Kumasi and Sunyani: Expect partly cloudy skies in the morning with sunny intervals later on. There is a 40% chance of thunderstorms by evening.

Temperatures across Ghana will range from 24°C to 38°C. The hottest conditions are expected in the northern regions.

GMet advises everyone, especially those in middle and northern belts, to take precautions against potential thunderstorms today.
