Ghana will host the 2025 International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Conference. This event is under President John Dramani Mahama, a Fellow of IPR Ghana and APRA.
This is the first time both the conference and the IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) Gala will be held in Ghana.
The event is organized with IPR Ghana and APRA. It will bring together global communication leaders, award-winning agencies, policymakers, and top PR professionals in Accra. Attendees can expect an exceptional knowledge-sharing experience.
Themed “Global Realities and Innovative Communications,” the conference takes place on Friday, October 3, 2025. It will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (GMT) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Facility.
There will be two high-level sessions focused on public relations' future and strategic communication.
The main topics are:
1. Public Relations (PR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
2. Communication, Sustainability, and Climate Change
A panel of global experts will discuss AI's ethical integration into communications. They will focus on Africa’s digital future.
Other speakers will address illegal small-scale mining's impact in Africa. Panellists from across the region will share insights on climate communication, behavior change, and sustainability strategies.
President John Dramani Mahama will deliver a keynote address at the conference. Other speakers include Esther A.N. Cobbah from IPR Ghana, Arik Karani from APRA, and Nataša Pavlović Bujas from IPRA.
International thought leaders in AI, sustainability, and strategic communications will also share their perspectives.
After the conference, the prestigious IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) Gala will take place at Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel at 7:15 p.m. (GMT). The gala celebrates impactful PR campaigns worldwide.
This year’s gala is significant as it marks IPRA's 70th anniversary and inaugurates its 2026 President.
Nataša Pavlović Bujas stated that IPRA has brought together PR professionals for seven decades. She expressed excitement about celebrating this milestone in Ghana.
Esther A.N. Cobbah emphasized that this gathering highlights Ghana's growing influence in global communications. She affirmed IPR Ghana’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and international collaboration.
