Accused in Ahmed Suale's murder case slapped with fresh additional charge

**Court Update on Ahmed Suale Murder Case**

The murder case of journalist Ahmed Suale has changed. Prosecutors have updated the charges against Daniel Owusu Koranteng, also known as Amakye. He now faces two counts: abetment to commit a crime and murder. This replaces the previous single charge of murder.

Owusu Koranteng appeared again at the Madina District Court. The court denied his bail request from defense lawyer Kofi Essel. Chief Inspector Nana Afua Bamfoa Bamfo argued against bail due to ongoing investigations.

Both Owusu Koranteng and Ahmed Suale worked together at Tiger Eye P.I. They had a personal connection before the tragic event occurred. Tensions rose in June 2018 when Kennedy Agyapong aired Suale’s images on television, urging attacks against him.

Suale later confronted Owusu Koranteng via WhatsApp, suspecting him of leaking the images. On January 16, 2019, Suale was shot dead in Madina after his photos were publicized. Investigators claim that Owusu Koranteng guided two accomplices to carry out the attack.

Evidence reportedly places Owusu Koranteng near Suale’s home during the murder. Afterward, he fled Madina and reached his Amasaman residence by 11:15 p.m., then left for the UK. Authorities say he evaded police summonses and altered his identity using someone else's National ID.

Upon returning to Ghana, he was arrested at Amasaman on March 15 this year. In court, he admitted knowing Ahmed Suale and visiting Kennedy Agyapong but denied leaking any images. Law enforcement is still searching for other suspects linked to the murder case.

The next court date is set for April 17, 2025.
