The Ada Community Chiefs Association has condemned a violent attack on salt workers at Bornikope in the Ada West Constituency, urging swift action from the outgoing government and President-elect John Mahama.
The December 21 assault injured two men and destroyed salt mining equipment.
Victim Korletey Kuglenu recounted being beaten and robbed by attackers allegedly linked to community tensions.
At a press conference, Nene Daniel Sewu III called the incident politically motivated, warning against divisive actions that threaten Ada’s development. He urged a united, non-partisan resolution to disputes over the Songor Lagoon.
Police investigations are underway, and the chiefs demand justice to prevent further unrest.
"Peace and progress for Ada must prevail," Sewu emphasized.
