Adu Boahene's alleged crime is strange– Sammy Ayeh

Dr. Sammy Ayeh, the Governance Spokesperson at the Presidency, expressed concern over allegations against Kwabena Adu Boahene. Adu Boahene is the former head of the National Signals Bureau (NSB). He is accused of diverting state funds into his private account.

The Attorney General, Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, claims Adu Boahene diverted GHȼ49 million. This money was supposed to go to the state. Adu Boahene's lawyers deny any wrongdoing.

On the Joy News AM Show, Dr. Ayeh said he expected direct transfers to the NSB account. Instead, he claimed funds went into a personal account owned by Adu Boahene and his wife. Only GHȼ9.5 million was transferred; the rest was placed in fixed deposits and invested in real estate for personal use.

Dr. Ayeh called this alleged diversion a serious mismanagement of public funds. He described it as one of the worst financial misconduct cases he has seen. He stated that no explanation could justify such actions.

He also noted similarities between Adu Boahene's personal account and the NSB's official account. “You create an account that is extremely similar to your entity’s account,” Dr. Ayeh remarked.
