Attorney-General Dominic Ayine has announced the arrest of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), over allegations of financial misconduct involving a $7 million cyber defense contract.
At a press briefing on Monday, March 24, Ayine detailed how Adu-Boahene allegedly diverted public funds meant for a critical national security project.
The contract, signed in January 2020 with Israeli firm RLC Holdings Limited, aimed to bolster Ghana’s cybersecurity defenses.
However, just days later, Adu-Boahene reportedly transferred GH¢27.1 million from the NSB’s Fidelity Bank account to a private company account at UMB under questionable circumstances.
Authorities believe this misappropriation has weakened Ghana’s cyber defense infrastructure.
Legal proceedings are set to begin, with the government reaffirming its commitment to accountability and financial integrity.
