The Attorney General and Minister of Justice has dismissed claims about President John Mahama.
These claims suggest he was misled in the case against Kwabena Adu Boahene. Adu Boahene is the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB).
Dr. Dominic Ayine announced the arrest of Adu Boahene and his accomplices. He noted that some said he deceived President Mahama during press conferences.
On April 30, Dr. Ayine addressed the media about corruption cases. He stated that President Mahama is fully aware of the facts surrounding this case.
He emphasized that Mahama is “on top of his brief.” The Attorney General insisted that he could not mislead the President.
"Unlike past presidents, John Dramani Mahama cannot be misled," he said. "If anyone misleads him, it would not be me."
Dr. Ayine confirmed that all information shared with the President is backed by evidence.
"I have proof for everything I told the President," he stated. "The docket contains documentary evidence of wrongdoing."
He also responded to speculation about political motives behind his earlier press conference. The delay in filing charges was due to uncovering another criminal scheme.
Investigators found a separate operation involving Ghana Water Company Limited. This involved providing secured Internet services under false pretenses by NSB.
"The delay happened because our team discovered another scheme by Adu Boahene," Dr. Ayine explained. "This involved purported Internet services for Ghana Water Company Limited."
