Kwabena Adu-Boahene was the former head of the National Security Bureau (NSB). He claims that GH¢5.1 million is under scrutiny for purchasing vehicles. These vehicles were for then President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
Adu-Boahene wrote a letter from EOCO custody, where he is remanded. In this letter, he summarized Special Operations expenditures during the post-election transition.
He faces multiple charges from the Attorney-General. These include stealing and causing financial loss to the state. Adu-Boahene strongly denies these allegations.
He stated that all disbursements made under his leadership were authorized. He insists they were related to national security operations. “I am not a thief,” he wrote, emphasizing good faith in spending.
In his letter, Adu-Boahene explained that the vehicles were crucial for logistical needs. The procurement followed urgent and classified directives for the incoming President and his team.
