Adum fire victims to receive GHs600k immediate support

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, announced a fundraising success.

A total of GHC600,000 was raised in just 24 hours. This money will support traders affected by a recent fire in Adum, Kumasi.

The fire occurred early on Friday, March 21. It destroyed many shops and properties, leaving traders with significant losses.

Dr. Amoakohene stated that the funds came from donations. A generous businessman contributed GHC500,000 for 50 victims. The Gender Ministry also provided an immediate relief package of GHC100,000 for the most vulnerable.

In an interview with Luv FM’s David Akuetteh, Hussein Ibrahim shared more details. He is an aide to the Ashanti Regional Minister. The businessman specified which victims should receive aid.

“Some victims are students and single parents,” he explained. “He wanted us to prioritize these individuals.”

Hussein Ibrahim discussed how the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) will help vulnerable victims.

“We will collect their data and assess their needs,” he said. “Then we will identify those who need support.”

He expressed hope for a positive outcome for affected market women.
