Adum traders apologise for 'disrespectful' rejection of Muntaka's relief items, appeal for their return

The Interim Executive of the BlueLight Traders Association (BTLA) has condemned recent disrespectful behavior. This occurred during the visit of Minister for Interior, Hon. Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka.

The minister came to offer support and food items. These were for mothers and children who lost everything in a fire outbreak. The BTLA released a statement on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

The association apologized to the minister for this regrettable incident. They believe it stemmed from misunderstandings among some members.

In difficult times, frustrations can lead to unintended reactions. However, such behavior does not reflect the values of the Association.

BTLA expressed gratitude for Hon. Muntaka's empathy and support. They noted his commitment to help rebuild the devastated BlueLight trading area. They also requested that donated items be properly distributed to affected members.

The association hopes Hon. Muntaka will accept their apology. They wish to continue working together in goodwill and respect.

Aid from Mr. Muntaka and NADMO included 1,500 bags of rice and 800 boxes of soap and cooking oil. This was aimed at helping victims of the recent Adum fire.

Some traders were disappointed with the donation response. They felt it did not meet their immediate needs.
